Dual Degree/Multiple Program Policies
Dual Degree Policies
Students may meet their educational goals by simultaneously pursuing degree programs in multiple Purdue colleges and schools. The College of Science encourages students to pursue multiple degree programs to reap the benefits of engaging multiple academic disciplines and developing deeper scientific thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
Non-Science Dual Degree Policy
Non-Science students will work with their current advisor to electronically submit a request to add a College of Science degree program. If approved, the student will be expected to concurrently complete the requirements of each degree program. Students must meet the following requirements for consideration.*
- Meet the minimum CODO requirements for their intended program.
- Have earned a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA at the time of their request and show appropriate degree progress in their current degree program.
- Meet specific departmental requirements, where applied. See additional Computer Science requirements outlined below.
Non-College of Sciences students are encouraged to meet with a College of Science advisor in their intended program/major by attending Non-major drop-in times.
*Colleges and Schools set individual dual degree policies and thus different requirements may apply.
College of Science Dual Degree Policy
College of Science students will follow the same requirements as non-Science students when requesting to dual degree with a program outside of the College of Science. Students must meet the following requirements for consideration.
- Meet the minimum CODO requirements for their intended program.
- Have earned a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA at the time of their request and show appropriate degree progress in their current degree program.
Program Specific DUAL DEGREE POLICY
Computer Science - Effective Spring, 2018, all catalog terms.
Students seeking approval to concurrently pursue a Computer Science Degree with another degree program must meet the following criteria for consideration. In addition to meeting all program CODO requirements for their catalog term, students must have:

A minimum 2.75 within their current program of study.

At a minimum, four semesters remaining in their current degree plan.

The ability to complete CS degree requirements within five semesters of approval as determined by a degree audit.
Dual Program Agreement: First Year Engineering
SCIENCE - FIRST-YEAR ENGINEERING (FYE) DUAL DEGREE AGREEMENT
Science students may request to dual degree with First-Year Engineering by meeting all FYE CODO requirements and submitting an electronic dual degree request through their advisor. This includes submitting requests by the stated CODO deadline each academic term. More information regarding FYE CODO requirements.
Science Multiple Program Policy
College of Science students will work with their advisors to review the CODO requirements of an additional program(s) in the College of Science to determine eligibility. Students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and meet all CODO requirements for their intended program(s).
